Profile:

Tarneit is centred around the suburb of Hoppers Crossing and also includes the growth suburban suburbs of Williams Landing, Tarneit and Truganina.

The area constituting this electorate is growing rapidly and is predominately working class, driven by the pricing of lower income earners out the gentrifying inner suburbs. Created in 2002, the seat has always been held by the Labor Party.

Incumbent MP:

Telmo Languiller (Labor) - since 2014. Pictured right. He is not standing for reelection in 2018.

Glenn Goodfellow has lived in the Hoppers Crossing and Tarneit suburbs all of his life and is constantly involved in the local community, including volunteering at Clean Up Australia Day, National Tree Day, Community Festivals, Residents’ Associations, Sports Clubs and in community business organisations. He was a Councillor in the City of Wyndham from 2008 to 2016 and served as Deputy Mayor from 2011 to 2012
