The Rowville electorate is located in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne and includes the suburbs of Rowville, Lysterfield, Ferntree Gully, Scoresby and Knoxfield. Created in 2014, it largely replaces the abolished electorate of Scoresby.

Like its predecessor, Rowville is safe for and has always been held by the Liberal Party. The current MP held the last incarnation of the Scoresby electorate from its creation in 2002.

Political Party: Greens

Natasha Sharma is a science student at Melbourne University, majoring in Immunology with foundations in politics and has been volunteering with the Greens since 2016. She has lived in Rowville since she was a child, and it is a home to her and the entireity of her immigrated family.

Political Party: Liberal (Incumbent MP)

Kim Wells has been the MP for Rowville since the 2014 State Election and previously served as the MP for Wantirna from 1992 to 2002, and the MP for Scoresby from 2002 to 2014. He served as Treasurer in the Baillieu Government. He previously worked as an accountant and joined the Liberal Party in 1984, holding various positions in the Wattle Park Branch.

Political Party: Transport Matters Party

Joe Cossari has over 15 years of local government experience including holding the positions of Councillor and Mayor of both Maroondah City Council and Knox City Council. He has been Chairman of the Knox Multicultural Committee, member of MAV’s Multicultural Policy Committee, a participant in the Maroondah Business Advisory Board, founder of the Filadelfia Italian Community Club and a member of various other community and government committees. He was born in Italy and currently lives in Wantirna South with his wife and has two children. In 2006, he was bestowed the title of “Cavalieri” by the President of Italy for service to the community.


Liberal retain

The Liberal Party is under no real threat in Rowville.
