Profile:

The seat of Nepean covers the southernmost part of the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne's outer south east and includes the towns of Arthurs Seat, Balnarring, Balnarring Beach, Blairgowrie, Boneo, Cape Schanck, Dromana, Fingal, Flinders, Main Ridge, McCrae, Merricks, Merricks Beach, Merricks North, Point Leo, Portsea, Red Hill, Red Hill South, Rosebud, Rosebud West, Rye, Safety beach, Somers, Sorrento, St Andrews Beach and Tootgarook.

The seat has usually been reasonably safe for the Liberal Party, though they did come to within 0.2% of losing the seat at the 2002 State Election. The seat also has the oldest median age of any electorate in the state

Incumbent MP:

Martin Dixon (Liberal) - since 2002. Pictured right. He is not standing for reelection in 2018.
