Profile:

The seat of Mornington is located in the outer east of Melbourne and includes the towns and localities of Mornington, Mount Eliza, Mount Martha and Tuerong, and parts of Baxter and Moorooduc. The area is part rural, consisting of animal farming, grape production and wineries.

Many of the towns in this electorate are generally affluent and as such, the seat has never been held by a non-conservative party.

Political Party: Animal Justice Party

Tyson Jack is passionate about helping animals who are subject to the cruel practices of factory farming while advocating for farmers to switch to cultivating plants for more ethical and sustainable farming practices. 26 years of age,  he grew up on the Mornington Peninsula and has lived in the Region all his life. He previously stood as the Animal Justice Party candidate for the Federal Division of Dunkley at the 2016 Federal Election.

Political Party: Liberal (Incumbent MP)

David Morris has been the MP for Mornington since the 2006 State Election. He was a retail executive from 1975 to 1980, after which he became a small business proprietor, a position he held up until his election. He served as Treasurer of the Mornington Chamber of Commerce and also held various internal positions within the Liberal Party. He served as a Councillor for Mornington Shire from 1987 to 1994.
