Ali Cupper is a lawyer, councillor and social worker who has dedicated her career to improving the lives of children and families in Sunraysia. For the past 12 years, she has worked as a solicitor, family law mediator, senior child protection practitioner and lecturer in social work and social policy. In 2012, she joined Mildura Rural City Council (MRCC) and over that time, has held portfolios for Community Development, Community Services and Gender Equality. In 2017/18, her Council colleagues appointed her Deputy Mayor, a position she also held in 2012/13 in her first year on Council. She is passionate about local politics and over the past 8 years, has been an assertive and unrelenting advocate for Mildura’s social and economic interests. She stood for the Mildura electorate at the 2014 State Election.

Prediction:

Nationals retain favoured

Though Mildura has no prospect of falling to the Labor Party, the seat has been held by independents in the past and the area tends to be a strong area for independent challengers; who have finished second at the last two elections.
