Profile:

A seat in Melbourne's north east, Bundoora includes the suburbs of Bundoora, Kingsbury, Watsonia and Watsonia North, and parts of Greensborough, Macleod, Mill Park and Yallambie. It also includes the central campus of La Trobe University.

The district has existed since the 1970's and has always been held by the Labor Party - usually by big margins. Former Premier John Cain was the seat's inaugural MP - serving from 1976 to 1992.

Political Party: Labor (Incumbent MP)

Colin Brooks as been the MP for Bundoora since the 2006 State Election and is the current Speaker of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. Before getting involved in politics, he worked as an electrician, receiving an electrical trades certificate from Petersham TAFE. From 1996, he worked as an electorate officer and from  1997 to 2005 he served on Banyule City Council, being mayor from 1998 to 1999 and 2001 to 2002.

Political Party: Liberal.

Jenny was a Councillor on Banyule City Council for 16 years and served twice being Mayor of the City. She has lived in northern suburbs of Melbourne for all her life and was born to Italian parents who came to Australia in the 1950s.

Prediction:

Labor retain.

Bundoora is a safe Labor seat.
