Profile:

Bayswater is an electorate located within the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The district includes the suburbs of Bayswater, Heathmont, Kilsyth South and The Basin, and parts of Bayswater North, Boronia, Ringwood and Wantirna.

Created in 1992, the district has always been relatively marginal that tends to trend towards the Liberal Party. Labor was able to gain the seat in 2002, before losing it again in 2006.

Heidi Victoria has been the MP for Bayswater since the 2006 State Election and held the ministerial portfolios for Arts, Women's Affairs and Consumer Affairs in the previous Napthine Government. She has a background as a professional photographer, owning and operating her own photography business that specialised in portraits and event photography and has served in numerous senior positions within the Liberal Party.


Assessment:

Bayswater is the type of seat that would only fall out of Liberal hands during landslide Labor election wins.
