Tony Abbott: I'm sick of you

Tony Abbott claims that "Australians are sick of being lectured to" by the UN over the government's treatment of refugees - joining the leaders China, Russia and North Korea as despots who are "sick of being lectured to". Here is what I am sick of regarding your government, Tony:

I am sick of your utter contempt for working families and people, students, pensioners, people with a disability, people who are sick, indigenous Australians, the unemployed, and practically everyone else that doesn't fall within your merry-band of wealthy big business and mining magnate mates.

I am sick of you using your utterly tired and excruciatingly boring three word slogans to talk down to the Australian people as though we are a bunch of ignoramuses that don't understand what you are doing or what your agenda is. We understand loud and clear what you are doing and what your agenda is: Being completely out of touch with modern Australia.

I am sick of the fact that you are the 'Minister for Women', yet your actions have shown to have been completely anti-women and have had no actual benefit what so ever to any woman in Australia; and no, Tony, the carbon price being scrapped is not a benefit.

I am sick of you, at every opportunity, playing to people's insecurity to whip up fear and division in the Australian community and actively encouraging it through your words and actions. I am also sick of you using asylum seekers, the most vulnerable of people, as pawns to play on people's fears and prejudices.

I am sick of the fact that you would be willing to trade in our personal freedoms for the purpose of stoking the flames of fear and insecurity, all just to boost yourself in the polls and to stroke the egos of the noisy minority of bigots and ideologues.

I am sick of you and your government's attacks on human rights advocates such as Gillian Triggs, and the UN, and your overly hostile and bully-boy attitude towards anyone who dares and rightfully criticises you or your government for its actions.

I am sick of your lack of any meaningful commitment on your government's part to combat climate change and the fact that you would rather destroy the renewable energy industry, and our natural environment, all the while continuing to give big mining billions of dollars in subsidies every year to benefit the likes of Gina Rinehart.

I am sick of you blaming everyone else but yourself when you don't get your own way. You're in government - negotiate, or drop your utterly appalling policies and come up with alternatives that don't attack the poor and the vulnerable in our community. Here, I'll help you.

I am sick of you assuming that you speak for every Australian when it comes to your antiquated views and assuming that everyone except the most extreme of ideologues accept your human rights abuses and pandering your hate.

Tony Abbott, and your government, I am sick of you, and judging by the recent opinion polls, so are most Australians.
